New York Islanders, New York Mets

Hockey is back on Long Island as New York Islanders prospects will be on the ice later this morning for the start of development camp. Did the summer fly by or what?

On Wednesday, while those prospects got ready to showcase their skills, some current Islanders headed to Citi Field as the New York Mets were throwing an “Islanders Night” with a special Sparky, Mr. Met bobblehead.

Representing the New York Islanders, besides Sparky of course, was Josh Bailey (and his two kids), Anthony Beauvillier, Scott Mayfield, Adam Pelech and Ross Johnston. Team owner John Ledecky was there as well, as he surprised the New York Islanders booster club.

Yes, that is the Ralph Macchio, a die hard New York Islanders fan who can be seen numerous times at UBS Arena for games.

Josh Bailey was the chosen one to throw out the first pitch befor the Mets and Cubs got underway. Spoiler alert for those that did not watch or see the score, but the Mets lost to the Cubs 6-3.
