Pierre Engvall Out Of Islanders Lineup In Winnipeg With Injury
Add another injury to the ever-growing list of the New York Islanders
The team announced just before their game against the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday that forward Pierre Engvall will not be in the lineup and that he’s currently day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

It’s not known when or how Engvall sustained his injury.
He participated in the Islanders’ shutout loss to the Minnesota Wild last night, registering three shots on goal in 14:54 of ice time. His final shift of the game began at 19:03 of the third period and concluded at the sound of the final horn.
Engvall’s injury is the latest in a slew for the Islanders.
Last week, Casey Cizikas suffered a lower-body injury that is expected to keep the center out of action for at least the next couple of weeks.
Cizikas’ injury forced Lane Lambert to radically shuffle the Islanders’ lines, and now Engvall’s is doing the same.
Against the Jets, Brock Nelson will skate with Hudson Fasching and Kyle Palmieri. Meanwhile, Bo Horvat will center a line of Anders Lee and Oliver Wahlstrom and Mathew Barzal will play between Simon Holmstrom and Cal Clutterbuck.
Tonight’s game in Winnipeg will be the third Engvall has missed this season but the first because of injury.
Twice this season, Engvall has been made a healthy scratch after making a mistake in the defensive zone that put the Islanders in a tough situation.
Overall, Engvall’s play has not resembled what it was when he joined the Islanders in a trade last season and is far from what the team hoped for when they signed him to a seven-year contract as a free agent last offseason.
In 41 games, Engvall has 14 points with five goals.
The Islanders face the Winnipeg Jets tonight at Canada Life Centre at 8 p.m., hoping to rebound from a dreadful performance in a shutout loss to the Minnesota Wild last night.
