Rosner Wrap: Sorokin Going To South Florida, Bettman on Provorov
BUFFALO, NY — Good morning folks. The New York Islanders fell to the Buffalo Sabres in a shootout Thursday night and are off Friday before hosting the Carolina Hurricanes Saturday night.

NYI HOCKEY NOW
After not being selected by the NHL to represent the Islanders at the All-Star Game, with Brock Nelson getting the honors, Ilya Sorokin has been voted in by the fans.
Backed by elite goaltending from Ilya Sorokin, the New York Islanders head home with a point, but ultimately blew another lead late in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Buffalo Sabres.
Before puck drop in Buffalo, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman spoke on a variety of topics, including UBS Arena hosting league events in the future.
The New York Islanders needed offense and brought up 20-year-old William Dufour to provide a spark against the beasts of the East in the Boston Bruins. But like beasts do, they feasted on Dufour and the rest of the Islanders in a 4-1 loss as they did the youngsters no favors.
