Philadelphia, PA–The New York Islanders meet the Philadelphia Flyers in their fifth game of the preseason tonight at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of time.

Palmieri Not Playing:

Islanders head coach Lane Lambert confirmed that forward Kyle Palmieri will not be in the lineup against the Flyers tonight. Palmieri rejoined the Islanders at practice yesterday after missing the first week and a half of training camp with an undisclosed injury.

Prospects Still Here:

Despite having two games left on their preseason schedule, the Islanders are keeping two groups in camp, one of NHL veterans and another made up of prospects.

The Islanders made initial cuts from camp a week ago, sending a group of players back down to AHL Bridgeport. The rest of the prospects will likely head there as well, but staying up with the big club allows the Islanders to continue to evaluate them firsthand.

“I think that adds value,” Lambert said. “The longer that they’ve been here, we get even more of a look at them. We’re always looking for something until the end of camp or until whenever we make decisions. Whoever is playing tonight wants to make an impression and leave an impression and go from there.”

Flyers To Dress NHL Squad:

In talking to Lambert pregame, he seemed confident the Islanders will face a largely NHL-caliber squad against the Flyers tonight.

As for who will be dressing for the Islanders, it looks like it will be more of a mix of veterans and prospects. Players who are confirmed to be playing are William Dufour, Julien Gauthier, Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Kyle MacLean.

Semyon Varlamov is projected to start in goal tonight after Ilya Sorokin started against the New Jersey Devils on Oct. 2.

How To Watch:

Puck drop from Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia is scheduled for just after 7 p.m. The game can be streamed on the New York Islanders website and won’t be available on either television or radio.
