New York Islanders

After a week away, the New York Islanders return home to UBS Arena for a Thanksgiving Eve tilt with the Philadelphia Flyers. Here’s what you need to know ahead of time.

Clutterbuck’s Big Night:

Tonight will be Cal Clutterbuck’s thousandth game. From Welland, Ontario, on through Minnesota to Long Island, the wily veteran has let his toughness speak for itself everywhere he’s been.

Martin Out of Lineup:

Clutterbuck’s longtime linemate Matt Martin will not be in the lineup tonight, Islanders head coach Lane Lambert confirmed this morning.

It will be the third game Martin has missed in a row while he deals with an upper-body injury. Martin has skated on his own prior to the team’s practice the last two days.

Projected Lineup:

Barzal-Horvat-Holmstrom

Engvall-Nelson-Palmieri

Lee-Pageau-Wahlstrom

Fashcing-Cizikas-Clutterbuck

Pelech-Dobson

Romanov-Pulock

Aho-Mayfield

Sorokin

Varlamov

Last Time Out:

The Islanders snapped a seven-game losing streak, beating the Calgary Flames 5-4 in a shootout on Saturday.

Oliver Wahlstrom scored the shootout winner in the fourth round, sniping a shot past Jakob Markstrom that helped erase two weeks of misery for the Islanders.

Hudson Fasching, Kyle Palmieri, Mathew Barzal and Brock Nelson all scored in the win, while Ilya Sorokin made 35 saves in goal.

The Islanders were a perfect three for three while shorthanded against Calgary after allowing multiple power-play goals in their prior three games.

The Opponent:

The Philadelphia Flyers enter tonight’s game riding a five-game winning streak, which includes wins over the likes of the Carolina Hurricanes and Vegas Golden Knights.

Philadelphia took down the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday in a 5-2 final.

At 10-7-1, the Flyers occupy second place in the Metropolitan Division with 21 points thus far in their second year under head coach John Tortorella.

Their power play is 28th in the NHL, and their penalty kill is 14th.

Defenseman Travis Sanheim’s 16 points lead the team, while Travis Konecny carries the load in goals with 11.

Veteran defenseman Marc Staal will return to the Philadelphia lineup tonight after missing the last month of action with an upper-body injury.

Carter Hart will get the start in goal.

Best Bets:

Although the Islanders have played in plenty of high-scoring contests this season, only one of their last six games has hit the over. You can bet the under tonight against Philadelphia by using odds presented by Draft Kings.

How To Watch:

Puck drop between the Islanders and Flyers from UBS Arena is scheduled for just past 7:30 p.m. EST. The game can be seen on MSG Network and streamed on MSG + and ESPN + for out-of-market viewers. 88.7 FM WRHU will produce the radio feed of the game, which can also be heard on 1050 AM ESPN on 103.9 FM WRCN.
