It’s just about time for hockey on Long Island again, as the New York Islanders have begun to emerge from their summer hiatus. And as they did, we’ve learned a little bit about who will be with the organization this season and even more about who won’t be.

At the end of this 18th NHL season last year, Zach Parise had no idea whether or not he’d be returning to the Islanders. On Monday, team president of hockey operations and general manager Lou Lamoriello revealed the veteran forward won’t be back, at least for the time being.
