DENVER–After a bounce-back win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday night, the New York Islanders (18-13-1) face the Colorado Avalanche (16-11-2) Monday night in Colorado. Puck drop is slated for 7 PM MST at Ball Arena, 9 PM EST.
Prior to morning skate, New York Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello addressed the media and provided injury updates:
Ilya Sorokin was the first goaltender off the ice at Islanders’ morning skate as he is the likely starter against the Avalanche with Semyon Varlamov out (day-to-day, lower-body). Cory Schneider (emergency call-up) will back Sorokin up.
Martin Kaut also is expected to be in the lineup, as he was recalled this morning from the Eagles.

Tonight, the New York Islanders visit the Colorado Avalanche in the second and final matchup between the two clubs this season. The
last time these teams met was October 29 at UBS Arena, when twelve different Islanders found the scoresheet, as they scored five
straight goals to earn a 5-4 win. Brock Nelson recorded the eventual game-winner.
Tonight’s matchup is the Islanders’ first visit to Ball Arena since March 1 of last season and is the fourth in a five-game road trip for the Islanders. They are 1-1-1 in their season-long trip so far.
The Islanders look to capture their tenth win of the season against a Western Conference opponent tonight.
