Islanders Game 2: Varlamov Starts; Lines, Notes & How to Watch
The New York Islanders take on the Dallas Stars at 8 o’clock in the American Airlines Center. The Islanders kick off their first road trip of the year with a three-game tour of the Central Division, first with the Stars tonight. Then, they’ll head to Denver to play the Colorado Avalanche on Monday before concluding the trip on Thursday in St. Louis for a game with the Blues.
The Islanders enter tonight 0-0-1. They opened their season with a game against another Central opponent, the Utah Hockey Club. Utah came out on top, coming from behind twice in the third period and eventually winning in overtime in UBS Arena.
Dallas enters 1-0-0 after a 4-3 road victory over the Nashville Predators. The Stars were outshot 36-20 in the game, but a pair of goals from Mason Marchment in the second period built the lead to 4-1. Nashville pushed hard in the third but ultimately came up short.
