on

First reported by Darren Dreger of TSN, former New York Islanders defenseman Parker Wotherspoon has signed a tw0-way deal with the Boston Bruins.

The deal is reportedly for one year and is worth $775,000 while Wotherspoon is in the NHL with the Bruins and $500,000 with their AHL affiliate in Providence.

Wotherspoon, 26, was selected by the Islanders 115th overall in the 2015 NHL Draft and made his NHL debut last season against the Florida Panthers on Dec. 23. After he was briefly sent back down to Bridgeport, Wotherspoon returned to the Islanders for the remainder of the season as a depth defenseman. He played in 12 games for the team and recorded one point with an assist on Jan. 3 against the Vancouver Canucks.

Wotherspoon was a Group 6 unrestricted free agent this offseason after the Islanders did not give him a qualifying offer.
