Good morning; My name is Andrew Fantucchio. It’s Friday, June 16, and here’s what I’m focused on around the NHL today.

Islanders’ draft spots revealed:

The order for the entire 2023 NHL Entry Draft was revealed on Thursday, and we now know exactly when each of the New York Islanders’ five selections will fall:

Round 2, Pick 49

Round 4, Pick 113

Round 5, Pick 145

Round 6, Pick 177

Round 7, Pick 209

The Islanders do not have a pick in either the first or third rounds this year. Their first-round selection was sent to the Vancouver Canucks as a part of the Bo Horvat trade and is now the property of the Detroit Red Wings at pick no. 17. Pick no. 81 now belongs to the Arizona Coyotes as the Islanders used it to help rid themselves of Andrew Ladd’s contract.

The 2023 NHL Entry Draft runs from  June 28-29 in Nashville, TN.

Bratt back in Jersey:

Jesper Bratt and the New Jersey Devils agreed to an eight-year contract extension worth $63 million.

The 24-year-old scored a career-high 32 goals this past season and matched his career-high of 73 points. Bratt was set to become a restricted free agent on July 1 but will now remain with the Devils until 2031.

Avs add Olofsson:

Fredrik Olofsson was weeks away from becoming an unrestricted free agent. Instead, he’s becoming a member of the Colorado Avalanche after being traded by the Dallas Stars for future considerations.

Olofsson, 27, appeared in 28 games for the Stars last season, totaling four points with one goal.
