We have an early start today, as the New York Islanders (10-6-0) face the Ottawa Senators (5-8-1) at 5:30 PM at Canadian Tire Center. The start time is early because the Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is at 7:30 PM ET and with former Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson being inducted, the team wanted to give their fans an opportunity to watch it. The ceremony will be played on the scoreboard folloing the game.

The New York Islanders, who are 8-2-0 in their last 10 games, did not practice Monday morning, as Lane Lambert will speak with the media around 3 PM.

At Sunday’s practice, everyone was accounted for. Ilya Sorokin (7-4-0, 2.17 GAA,.932 SV% 1 SO) was the first goaltender off and is the likely starter against the Ottawa Senators.

As Lambert has done before, he has adjusted a few of his lines, staying with the same group that finished the game on Saturday night, a come-from-behind win yet again, this time over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Zach Parise had the overtime winner on Hockey Fights Cancer Night.

The New York Islanders will be facing a former teammate in Travis Hamonic, who donned the blue and orange from 2010 to 2017 after being drafted 53rd overall in 2008.

Current New York Islanders forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau was drafted bt the Senators in the fourth round (96th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft, and spent his first eight year with Ottawa.

For the Ottawa Senators, star defenseman Thomas Chabot will be out at least a week after suffering a concussion against the Philadelphia Flyers after a hit by Travis Konecny in a 4-1 win. That victory snapped a five-game losing sttreak.

The Senators have not named a starting netminder, but the expectation is that Cam Talbot (1-2-0, 2.35 GAA, .925 SV%) will get the start.
