ELMONT, N.Y. — Not even the New York Islanders broadcasters seem like they can avoid the injured list right now.

MSG+ analyst Butch Goring is out for Thursday’s return to action after undergoing shoulder surgery, Newsday reported. He will not return until next week.

New York Rangers analyst Joe Micheletti will fill on Thursday when the New York Islanders face the San Jose Sharks at UBS Arena. The Rangers played on Wednesday, leaving Micheletti available to fill in for Goring.

Micheletti had previously served as the New York Islanders TV analyst from 1998 to 2006 partnering with then play-by-play man Howie Rose. He began covering the Rangers with Sam Rosen at the start of the 2006-07 season.

Thursday will mark the first time that Micheletti has worked an NHL game current TV voice, Brendan Burke.

AJ Mleczko will work with Burke for Saturday’s game in Detroit, Sunday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks and Tuesday’s contest in Ottawa.
