On the latest edition of Hockey Night in New York, the talk was all about what the New York Islanders do now. They find themselves two points back of the Pittsburgh Penguins for the second wild-card spot, with three more games played.

Should New York Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello sell at the 2023 NHL Deadline or add and give this group one more crack at going on a run?

“They’re in NHL purgatory right now,” Stefen Rosner said. “They are too good to get the high draft pick, Bedard, but apparently, per Bettman, no one is tanking and what Bettman says is the truth is only the truth.”

“But they’re not good enough [to win]…We’re at a point now where it’s [Stanley] Cup or bust, and it’s been like that since [Barry] Trotz and Lou got here.”

Co-host Sean Cuthbert added, “The bar’s been raised.”

On the show, it was officially announced that Rosner is joining the show full-time. The writing isn’t going away, but now you can listen to his insight.
