Lee suffered the injury during Thursday’s 5-3 win over the New Jersey Devils. The Islanders captain got tangled up with Pavel Zacha and the New Jersey forward went over Lee’s extended leg. Lee crawled on the ice to try and get the referee’s attention to stop the play and then had to be helped to the dressing room by a team trainer.

“I think we’re all anxiously awaiting to hear what the verdict is,” Josh Bailey said after Thursday’s game. “I think Brock said it best, he’s the heartbeat of our team. He’s not a guy to lay on the ice, so you knew something was going on. We’re just hoping for the best news possible.”
Lee currently leads the Islanders in goals with 12 through 27 games this year and his 19 points are second only behind Mathew Barzal.
