The New York Islanders concluded their road trip with a lopsided 6-1 loss to the Florida Panthers on Monday. It was a brutal start to the game, but a game that got a bit better as the minutes continued to tick. Ryan Pulock, lower-body injury, and Josh Bailey, COVID-19 protocol, missed Tuesday’s game leading to a major shuffling of the lines. When Barry Trotz opted to send a message on Monday to Oliver Wahlstrom by limiting his playing time, there were many who quickly pointed to other struggling players that didn’t seem to face the same reaction from the New York Islanders’ head coach. Trotz has typically given his veteran players more leeway than younger players and that was the case on Monday night, despite some deep displeasure among the fans over it.
