The New York Islanders will be hoping for a little bit of the luck of the Irish when they face the New York Rangers on their rescheduled date in March.

The NHL announced on Tuesday afternoon that they had moved the Nov. 28 game between New York’s rival hockey teams to Tuesday, March 17 at 7 p.m. The game had been postponed when up to eight Isles players were in COVID protocol.

The Islanders’ Nov. 30 game against Philadelphia has yet to be rescheduled yet. That too was postponed because of the COVID outbreak that impacted the New York Islanders.

The new date for the battle of New York is set for one of the area’s biggest party days and the crowd is expected to be lively for the midtown Manhattan showdown. The Islanders and Rangers have played just once this season, which was a 4-1 loss on Nov. 24 at UBS Arena.
