Holiday Break Starts Early: NHL & NHLPA Agree To Postponements
The NHL and the NHLPA have agreed to the shutdown of all operations from Wednesday, Dec.22 through Saturday, Dec. 25. NHL facilities will not reopen until 2 PM local time on Sunday, Dec. 26.

Upon the return to team facilities, all personnel included in the team’s traveling party must test negative.
The New York Islanders, who saw their game against the Montreal Canadiens postponed on Monday, Dec. 20, had one game remaining before the Christmas break. Their game scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 23 against the Washington Capitals has been postponed.
The Islanders’ next game will be on Monday, Dec. 27 against the Buffalo Sabres.
The two remaining NHL games on the schedule for Tuesday, Dec. 27 (WSH @ PHI, TBL @ VGK) will be played as of now.
