New York Islanders head coach Barry Trotz had indicated that the team could look to start trimming down its roster at some point this week. New York has two preseason games left before the start of the regular season next week.
The Islanders face the New Jersey Devils on Thursday in Newark and square off against the New York Rangers in the preseason finale on Saturday in Bridgeport.
The 10 players that the New York Islander placed on waivers should clear without too many issues. While they’ve all gotten a look during training camp and preseason, none of them have played significant time in the NHL.
