After an off-day Wednesday, the New York Islanders were back on the ice Thursday morning for day 7 of training camp.

Following the 4-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday, New York Islanders head coach Lane Lambert shared that Wednesday would be a day for evaluation and decision making.

After the off-day, the New York Islanders trimmed their roster by 16 skaters.

Goaltender Tristan Lennox was returned to his junior hockey team, the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL.

The Islanders ran a two-group system on Thursday following the roster cutdown. We saw some different line combinations, and the Islanders did practice their power play for the first time since training camp began. Below are the groups, the forward line combinations, the defensive pairings, and the power-play groups.
