New York Islanders
Elimination Pending, Gm 75: Lines, Previews & How to Watch vs. Maple Leafs
After shutting the door on the Montreal Canadiens Friday night, the New York Islanders are in Toronto to face the Maple Leafs. Puck drop is slated for 7:30 PM ET at Scotiabank Arena.
If the Toronto Maple Leafs win in regulation, the Washington Capitals will clinch a playoff berth, eliminating the New York Islanders from playoff contention.
New York Islanders nemtinder Ilya Sorokin will be making his fourth consecutive start Sunday night. Semyon Varlamov is dealing with a stomach bug, which forced him to miss Friday night’s contest against the Montreal Canadiens.
Sorokin started that contest, stopping all 44 shots he faced for his seventh shutout of the season. He’s 2-1-0, with a .920 SV% and a 2.60 GAA over his last three games.
Ken Appleby, who was emergency recalled Friday from ECHL Worchester due to being in the area, will back up Ilya Sorokin for a second straight game.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are playing the second leg of their back-to-back Sunday after defeating the Ottawa Senators Saturday night by a score of 5-2. Netminder Erik Kallgren got the start, so all signs point to Jack Campbell being in goal against the New York Islanders.
