After a 6-3 loss to the Boston Bruins on Saturday, the New York Islanders (28-26-9) host the Tampa Bay Lightning (40-18-6) Sunday at UBS Arena. Puck drop is slated fo 2 PM ET.

Given the game on Saturday, the New York Islanders did not skate Sunday morning nor was there any media availability.

New York Islanders netminder Semyon Varlamov allowed six goals on 44 shots to the Boston Bruins as Ilya Sorokin will be in net against the Tampa Bay Lightning. 

Brian Elliott was the starting goaltender for Tampa in their 2-1 overtime win against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday as Andrei Vasilevskiy will be in goal against the Islanders.

he New York Islanders host the Tampa Bay Lightning today, the second of three matchups between the two clubs this season.

The last time these teams met was November 15, 2021, in Tampa. Both teams enter today’s game in the back-end of a back-to-back series: the Islanders visited Boston yesterday afternoon and the Lightning defeated Detroit in overtime.

The last time the Islanders hosted Tampa Bay was June 23, 2021, Game 6 of the 2021 Stanley Cup Semifinal, but Tampa Bay has not visited the Islanders in the regular season since November 1, 2019.
