The New York Islanders will be skating Sunday morning, but not the game group that will be taking the ice against the Philadelphia Flyers later this evening at UBS Arena.

Before we get to the New York Islanders stories from Saturday, LIU kicked off their season Saturday night against no. 9 Northeastern.

It was a valiant effort by LIU, forcing overtime against a tough Northeastern team, but unfortunately the result was a 3-2 loss.
