New York Islanders
Islanders Game 69: Rematch with Kings, Pageau a Game-Time Decision
LOS ANGELES — The New York Islanders (34-26-8) kick off their California road trip with a Tuesday night showdown against the Los Angeles Kings (38-20-9). Puck drop is slated for 10:30 PM ET at Crypto.Com Arena.
The Islanders have won three of their last four games and hold down the second wild-card spot with a three-point lead over the Florida Panthers, who own one game in hand.
The Kings have been surging, winners of five of their last six games, the one loss coming in a shootout loss to the Nashville Predators on Saturday.
MORNING SKATE
Everyone was on the ice at morning skate, except Ryan Pulock, who took his option. He was doing off-ice drills instead.
Ilya Sorokin was in the starter’s crease, and was the first goaltender off the ice as he will get the nod against the Kings. The 27-year-old is 4-1-1 over his last six starts, with a 1.82 GAA with a .935 SV%.
Jean-Gabriel Pageau, who missed Monday’s practice, was on the ice and did come off with the regulars. He is a game-time decision but is expected to return after a 12-game absence.
