Do you guys have anything planned for the weekend? I was away for a few days celebrating my anniversary, five years with the best person on the planet. We went out East to a brewery, a distillery,..it was a really great time. Now later today, I’m celebrating my mom’s birthday, so it has been a busy couple of days.

The New York Islanders have one prospect playing today at the World Juniors, as William Dufour and Team Canada face Czechia at 6 PM ET. Dufour has a goal and three assists in two games thus far.

Here are the stories to know for today:

NYI Hockey Now: On day three of the resumed 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship, all four New York Islanders‘ prospects were in action, and all four won their respective games. Here’s a quick news roundup on some NYI prospects.

NYI Hockey Now: With Jacob Trouba being named captain of the New York Rangers on Tuesday, let’s look back at how Anders Lee became captain of the New York Islanders. It was the offseason of 2018.

NYI Hockey Now: One of the biggest challenges for New York Islanders fans that attended games at UBS Arena was figuring out what type of transportation to take to get to the games. Our Josh Linsenberg caught up with Newsday’s Alfonso Castillio, who covers the LIRR, to find out what updates were coming for the 2022-23 season for fans attending games at UBS Arena. More to come as we get more information.

Boston Hockey Now: With Patrice Bergeron heading back to the Boston Bruins, along with David Krejci, could we see another former Bruin rejoin the team for the 2022-23 season in fan favorite Milan Lucic?

Florida Hockey Now: First-year Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice has chosen his coaching staff for the 2022-23 season. Sylvain Lefebvre, Myles Fee, and Jamie Kompon join the staff, with Tuomo Ruutu and Robb Tallas the only two coaches remaining from the 2021-22 season.

Washington Hockey Now: Alex Ovechkin, the captain of the Washington Capitals, took the ice with social media influencer Subhan Mamedov on Friday, as the two played hockey together. Mamedov posts comedy videos and pranks on his Instagram account, @subo_m, which has over 10 million followers.

Vegas Hockey Now: On Thursday, the Vegas Golden Knights announced that starting goaltender Robin Lehner would miss the entirety of the upcoming 2022-23 season. He will undergo hip surgery, and an exact timetable will be determined at a later date. All the best to Lehner as he looks to surpass yet another roadblock in his NHL career. Here are five emergency options, one being New York Islanders netminder Semyon Varlamov.

San Jose Hockey Now: Former New York Islanders head coach Scott Gordon, along with Ryan Warsofsky, will be assistant coaches under newly appointed San Jose Sharks head coach David Quinn. Thomas Speer will be the goaltending coach, and Nick Gialdini will be the video coach.
