Good morning! Monday, was a whirlwind eh? The New York Islanders Reverse Retro jersey information created a lot of headaches for many, my apologies. It’s weird how the Fisherman stands within the fan base. For the fans who lived through those years, it makes sense as to why they are so against the design coming back. The younger fans love the design and just see it for what it is, not mixing in the history.

Check out all the stories to know in today’s Rosner Wrap:

NYI Hockey Now: If the New York Islanders did not add any forwards this offseason, for a team that was offensively inept for the majority of the 2021-22 season, it would be a major disadvantage for a team in a high-strung offensive division like the Metropolitan Division.  With the brand names off the board and quite frankly too expensive, Edmonton Oilers forward, 24-year-old Jesse Puljujarvi is a player that should be on the Islanders’ radar.

NYI Hockey Now: On Sunday, the Vancouver Canucks new Reverse Retro jersey was leaked. Although there are no pictures of what the New York Islanders new Reverse Retro third jersey will look like, it appears it will be one that will have some Islanders faithful jumping for joy while others will be feeling the complete opposite.

Washington Hockey Now: New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin has faced off against countrymate Alex Ovechkin on several occasions already in his young career as the Metro Division rivals are forming a strong rivalry, especially after the Tom Wilson incident to end 2021. Shesterkin recently spoke to sports.ru about the Great 8, praising his goal-scoring ability and giving his thoughts on whether or not Ovechkin can break Wayne Gretzky’s all-time record of 895.

Florida Hockey Now: On Monday, Matthew Tkachuk was introduced by the Florida Panthers. He made it clear that he chose the Florida Panthers because he wants to win. He also stated that the hates Edmonton, but now, he hates Tampa more.

Detroit Hockey Now: On Monday, the Detroit Red Wings signed ex-Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Robert Hagg. He told the Detroit media that there were a few offers on the table but what enticed him about the Red Wings was their potential and future.

Montreal Hockey Now: On Monday, Winnipeg Jets forward Pierre Luc-Dubois addressed the media about comments his agent, Pat Brisson, made on live television about a team he would want to play for in the future. The comments were made before Dubois re-signed in Winnipeg (RFA). He downplayed what his agent said.

Vegas Hockey Now: Owen Krepps is back from vacation and is back behind a keyboard. He discusses the Vegas Golden Knights salary cap situation, a charity event and more.

San Jose Hockey Now: Radim Simek is excited for the upcoming NHL season…but is he excited to be with the San Jose Sharks? Simek’s agent Marc Levine texted this short statement to San Jose Hockey Now today: “Radim is excited about heading back to the US sometime in August and looking forward to the 2022-2023 season.”

Vancouver Hockey Now: Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Bruce Boudreau is anxious to get started on the 2022-’23 NHL season. Chatting with VHN on Monday evening, Boudreau said he expects all of the team’s coaches to be into Vancouver ahead of September 1st and to be ready to go with planning and preparation for training camp that starts later that month.

Calgary Hockey Now: New Calgary Flames star Jonathan Huberdeau wasn’t particularly happy with the way the trade went down. That might not be a bad thing for the Flames. But to the surprise of many, Huberdeau stated that he would be open to an extension and could see himself being a Flame for a really long time.
