Dallas Time, Gm 19: Islanders vs. Stars, Bailey Back in, Betting Odds & More
DALLAS–The New York Islanders (11-7-0) are in Dallas to face the Stars (10-5-2) Saturday night after a 5-4 loss to the Nashville Predators back on Thursday. Puck drop is slated for 8 PM ET.
The Dallas Stars are the best first-period offense in the NHL, outscoring their opponents 24-7 in first periods. The New York Islanders have struggled in that regard, especially last game against the Nashville Predators.
“They’re a quickstart team. So we have to be ready. We’ve talked about our starts, and we’re looking forward to a better start tonight,” New York Islanders head coach Lane Lambert said following morning skate.
Semyon Varlamov was the first goaltender off the ice as he will make his seventh start of the season against Dallas.
Josh Bailey took line rushes on the third line alongside Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Kyle Palmieri and is expected to be back in after serving as a healthy scratch the last two games.
Kyle Palmieri will play in his 700th game, and Adam Pelech will play in his 400th. Cal Clutterbuck (3,624) is eight hits away from tying Dustin Brown for most hits all-time.
For Dallas, Jake Oettinger (6-2-1, 2.23 GAA, .927 SV%) will get the start in goal per head coach Pete DeBoer. Backup netminder Scott Wedgewood is a game-time decision after sustaining an injury against the Florida Panthers on Thursday.
Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson each carry a 10-game point streak into the contest against New York.
