Time to Howl, Gm 14: Islanders vs. Coyotes, New Lines, Betting Odds & More
After back-to-back comeback wins, the New York Islanders (9-5-0) take on the Arizona Coyotes (5-6-1) at UBS Arena. Puck drop is slated for 7:30 PM ET.
The New York Islanders held an optional skate Thursday morning, with Anders Lee the only player absent. Cal Clutterbuck was back on the ice, after missing the New York Rangers game, along with the second and third periods against the Calgary Flames.
Head coach Lane Lambert said he expects Anders Lee to play tonight, but they will see about Cal Clutterbuck.
Defenseman Adam Pelech, who took a puck off the face in the dying seconds of the third period against the New York Rangers, was on the ice for optional morning skate, and Lambert said that he is okay.
Ilya Sorokin (9-6-3, .933 SV%, 2.20 GAA, 1 SO) was the first goaltender off the ice as he will make his 10th start of the season.
He has faced the Arizona Coyotes twice in his NHL career and has yet to allow a goal with two shutouts, as he has stopped 43 of 43 shots.
For the Arizona Coyotes, Karel Vejmelka (4-3-1, .908 SV%, 3.41 GAA) is expected to make the start, but that has not been confirmed at this time.
