On Sunday, the Islandes added Anthony Beauvillier, Cal Clutterbuck, Zach Parise, and Oliver Wahlstrom into COVID-19 protocol, On Tuesday, Brock Nelson was added, bringing the Islanders total in protocol to seven. Matt Martin and Robin Salo, who are part of that list, are expected to be activated Wednesday morning.
The COVID-19 issues do not just stem from the Islanders’ side of things. At one point over this past week, Detroit had 11 players and a few coaches in protocol. That number as of Tuesday has dropped to six skaters for Detroit.
The Islanders have a game scheduled on Thursday against the Buffalo Sabres, and NHL insider David Pagnotta reported Tuesday evening that the Sabres’ games are still on.
