Islanders Game 22: Romanov Out (Again); Lines & How to Watch
ELMONT, NY — Well, it wouldn’t be the Islanders without a late twist. After warmups, the New York Islanders announced that Alexander Romanov misses tonight’s game due to an undisclosed illness. The Russian defender has already missed 10 games with an upper-body injury and now misses his 11th in the first 22 games.
Grant Hutton returns to the lineup for the Islanders after being healthy scratched each game since Romanov’s return.
The Detroit Red Wings also have a notable injury, as Patrick Kane will not dress against the Islanders due to an upper-body injury.
The Red Wings have beaten the Islanders in both meetings this year. The first occurred in UBS Arena in a 1-0 loss where the Islanders throttled the Red Wings, outshooting them 30-11. However, they failed to solve Alex Lyon who shut them out.
The second meeting came at the end of the Islanders’ two-week-long road trip. The Islanders blew a third-consecutive third-period lead and lost 2-1 in regulation.
