New York Islanders
Islanders Game 3: Sorokin’s First; Lines, Notes & How to Watch

The New York Islanders’ road trip continues tonight as they take on the Colorado Avalanche at 9 o’clock inside Ball Arena.
The Islanders enter 0-1-1 after being shutout by Dallas on Saturday night. In that game, they took marginal strides but ultimately failed to score a goal. As for Colorado, they enter 0-2-0 with losses to the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Vegas Golden Knights. In both of those games, the Avalanche had to pull starting goaltender Alexander Georgiev.
It’s also the first time Islanders Head Coach Patrick Roy will be in Colorado since he resigned from his post as coach of the Avalanche in 2016. After the morning skate, Roy met with the media and expressed regret about how he left and how it all shook out.
The Avalanche will also be dressing not one, not two, but three former Islanders players tonight (Devon Toews, Calvin de Haan, and Chris Wagner).
