Ilya Sorokin

It’s a sight that New York Islanders fans have been waiting for.

Ilya Sorokin donned an Islanders practice jersey on Tuesday and skated with the team for the first time since signing with the organization earlier this month. Sorkin inked his entry-level deal on July 13 and then the following day signed a one-year extension with the Islanders.

Sorokin is now up with the team in Toronto for the postseason tournament, though he is ineligible to play as an unsigned draft pick. He did not travel up with the Islanders on Sunday as he finished out the rest of his quarantine on Long Island.

The Islanders drafted Sorokin in the third round of the 2014 NHL Draft.
